Louise is Bloom's founder, bringing over 20 years of experience in mental health and wellbeing. She has provided frontline support, and has held senior leadership and management roles in national and local mental health charities. Her passion for the arts and creativity as a powerful tool for personal development and social change was ignited while studying Theatre at the prestigious Dartington College of Arts. Alongside her career in mental health and wellbeing, Louise developed her skills and experience as a community arts and theatre practitioner, including running Open Door Theatre Company for adults with learning disabilities and leading creative workshops for a range of groups in community and health settings. In 2016, Louise earned an MA in Dramatherapy, blending her wealth of experience in mental health and her creative and community practice with clinical expertise. She has worked clinically in schools, psychotherapy services, hospices, and her private practice. Louise is dedicated to tackling wellbeing inequalities and driving social change through creative practice - empowering communities to bloom!

What did Louise want to be when she grew up?

Iain is a professional musician, best known for his work on keyboards with the acclaimed band Mostly Autumn and his engaging solo projects. Iain is a successful touring and recording artist, and an accomplished composer and songwriter. He studied baroque, classical and jazz music at Leeds College of Music and then went on to study Composition and Electro-Acoustics at Huddersfield University. Iain had his first piano lesson at just three years old and he was hooked! As an experienced music teacher he is dedicated to igniting a love for music in the children he teaches. Iain has many years' experience as a community music practitioner working with communities to make and perform music, from choirs and orchestras to rock school shows and festivals. He currently facilitates a performance group for people with disabilities. Iain brings his extensive musical experience, along with his passion for music as a tool for connection and expression, to Bloom. Our maestro also plays guitar, trombone, ukulele (and more!) so we're ever ready for a singalong at Bloom!

Founder & CEO – Louise Bloomfield
Louise, the Founder and CEO of Bloom, brings over 20 years of experience in mental health and wellbeing, combining her expertise in clinical work with a passion for creative and community-driven practices. Having worked in senior leadership roles within national and local charities, Louise leads the day-to-day operations of Bloom, developing creative programs and building community relationships. Her vision is grounded in using the arts and creativity to drive social change and tackle wellbeing inequalities.
Company Director – Iain Jennings
Iain is a professional musician, composer, and educator with a lifelong passion for music. He has extensive experience working as a community music practitioner, bringing people together through the power of sound. Iain contributes to Bloom with his artistic skills, his experience working in education, and his belief in music as a tool for connection and expression. His role helps ensure that Bloom’s initiatives remain engaging, inclusive, and creatively dynamic.
Company Director – Karen May
Karen has a wealth of experience in youth and community engagement, having managed projects across the UK and USA. With a background in community education and social history, she champions the power of collaborative practices in building strong, connected communities. Karen’s expertise extends to fundraising and grant writing, with a proven track record of securing funding to support impactful community projects. Her commitment to social wellbeing and her strategic guidance ensures that Bloom’s initiatives are not only sustainable but can grow and thrive.
Company Director – Victoria Edwards
Vicky is a complementary therapist with international experience working in spas and wellness centers. With over 20 years of teaching experience, she is passionate about holistic wellness and creating opportunities for people facing socio-economic barriers. Vicky’s expertise lies in providing tailored wellbeing support, and her focus on accessible care informs how Bloom designs and delivers its community-focused services.

Associate Therapist & Creative – Music & Voice – Carrie Garrett
Carrie is a Voice Specialist Speech & Language Therapist, Vocal Massage Therapist, and Clinical Director at The Singer's Clinic. As a professional musician and vocalist, Carrie integrates therapeutic techniques with creative expression, empowering individuals to explore their voices and creativity. Her holistic approach adds tremendous value to Bloom’s work as both an Associate Creative and an Associate Therapist.
Associate Creative – Crafts & Design – Mel Fullerton-Jehs
Mel is an accomplished silversmith and the owner of Silverlicious Artisan Jewellery. She creates unique handcrafted pieces and workshops that encourage self-expression and emotional wellbeing. Mel’s artistic expertise and her passion for fostering creativity make her an invaluable member of the Bloom team as a Creative Associate.
Associate Textile Artist – Jogeet
Jogeet is a textile artist who uses fabric and stitch to create expressive, intricate works that explore themes of personal and collective identity. Through her textile art, Jogeet facilitates creative wellbeing workshops and helps individuals connect with their own stories through tactile art forms.
Associate Visual Artist – Liz Harvey
Liz Harvey is a visual artist whose work explores a range of media, including painting, drawing, and mixed media. Her artistic practice focuses on themes of memory and identity, and she uses her art to facilitate creative expression in a variety of settings. Liz’s artistic skill and commitment to community engagement enrich Bloom’s creative wellbeing initiatives.
